Sony's Live Conference E3 2012

If you decided to read my article on Microsoft’s conference than you will know that it was a major let down and I really didn’t enjoy watching it. Well after watching Sony’s review I can say that Microsoft’s conference was extremely bad. Sony’s conference did everything right. There could have been one or two ways that would have made it even better but compared to Microsoft’s conference (and any conference in general) it was really awesome.

So Sony’s conference started off with an epic montage, showing of the PS games of the future. During the conference free PS+ for a year was given away, Sony’s alliance with Ubisoft showed lots of awesome benefits and just sweet game reveals were made. There was some talk about the cross platform, new move titles and new PS Vita titles. We saw Assassins Creed 3, Far Cry 3, God of War: Ascension, Last of Us and more. They spent a little bit too much time on Book of Spells and the whole Wonderbook concept but part of that was from the fact that they had a few... “Technical difficulties” during the demo (if you watched the stream you will know what I mean). Jack Tretton greeted us at the start, through the conference he introduced the new section (game, product ect) and then said goodbye. Now I know it is something that happens pretty often in a conference but some people *cough Microsoft cough* don’t already know that and I thought I should include it in this article for them.

So overall Sony’s conference was pretty good. It felt like it was put together and planned out better than Microsoft’s conference and the people who were talking seemed like they actually wanted to be there. During the conference we looked back on some of the old times, like the old “For Michael” video Sony released last year, which was a nice touch. During the conference we also saw something new from games. For example, Far Cry 3 showed of the 4 Player Co-op and Assassins Creed III showed of the “ship warfare”, stuff that we didn’t have much of a clue about. In the end Sony’s conference was not only better in the way it was set out and what they showed. But also in the way that it just seemed friendlier. And that’s why I have always preferred Sony over Microsoft, just because they seem friendlier and actually interested in how they could improve the PS community to make it better for us, where as Microsoft seems to only care about the money. So obviously I am going to say Sony’s conference was better than Microsoft’s, and unless Nintendo can finally do a good conference I think Sony may just win this year’s E3.

P.S. If you have finished reading this article thinking “Michael, why are you such a Sony fanboy for? Hating on 360 like a noob”. Well no, I’m not a Sony fanboy nor am I a Microsoft hater. But Microsoft was just a very big letdown this year, lately I have really gotten into Xbox 360 and the Xbox community and I was hoping that at E3 Microsoft would settle it for me to make me become a full Xbox member (with the yearly gold membership and the 10+ games and what not). But after watching that disgrace I’m back to thinking how I have been thinking all this time, Microsoft just cares about money...
